In a world of Internet misogyny, Dr. Roots investigates a German-language online fandom which remains a place where women can outwardly express their ideas as the community has been coded as a private space. This poses questions of how and why online spaces can be coded as private despite being easily accessible online, and what that means for women telling and sharing stories online.
