Beth Adcock Shiroishi is the director of the Associated Colleges of the South Mellon Academic Leadership Fellows Program, which aims to diversify academic leadership in higher education administration. Beth’s previous professional and civic work has spanned 20+ years in the strategy and execution of multiple programs in the areas of customer experience, public policy, pricing strategy, contract negotiations, regulatory affairs, and philanthropy and corporate social responsibility.
The majority of Beth’s professional career was with AT&T and its predecessor companies. She helped architect and build AT&T’s corporate social and environmental responsibility discipline and team from the ground up while serving in several Vice President roles in Global Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) and Sustainability and Philanthropy, as well as in her role as President of the AT&T Foundation and as President of AT&T Georgia. To integrate sustainability throughout the company’s operations, Beth developed strategies and initiatives to drive internal change; developed and communicated AT&T’s positions; assessed and interpreted sustainability trends to determine direction for the company; developed and launched a companywide activation strategy to engage 200k+ employees; and spearheaded external stakeholder engagement that included nonprofits and non-governmental organizations.
Beth has served on the board of her alma mater, Agnes Scott College, as well as GenesysWorks, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Georgia REACH Foundation, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.
